October 3: Mother and Father's Anniversary

Today is my mother and father's sixtieth wedding anniversary.  Sixty years.  That's pretty damn impressive.

I wasn't able to see them today.  I worked and taught, and then I hung around and waited for my daughter to finish up her dance lessons.  Neither of my parents are huggy-touchy people.  I can't remember the last time I gave my dad a hug, and my mother comes from stoic Pennsylvania Dutch stock.  Two tough old birds.  They're a match made in heaven.

Saint Marty hopes his marriage is as strong in 60 years.  That will be in 42 more years.  Heck, Saint Marty hopes he's alive in 42 years.

Sixty years and counting
